THIS ONE'S FOR YOU, MOM

Since we are talking about the 70's...
let's say something about the 60's.

One of the many advantages of spending time with your grandparents is that the past can come alive.

I kinda have an obsession with the past.

I even majored in the past in college.

I love the past so much that visiting the same yarn and fabric store that my Grammy did 60 years ago makes my week.

But I digress.

What follows are some slides from the 60's.

They came out of boxes that were tucked away in my grandparents' closet and are meticulously numbered and organized.  

They are pictures of some of the clothes my mom made in high school.

She made most of her clothes for two reasons:

1)  Grammy told her she could have all the clothes she wanted if she made them.

2)  My mom was very petite, which is nice, except that back then you couldn't find size 2 very easily and so nothing fit her.

So there you have it.  I predict we'll be seeing some of these nifty styles on the runways soon...
