Can you tell school has started?
I can.
Because my alarm is set for 4:30 in the morning again.
And I am lovin' it.
No, really.
This is why:
Those actually aren't my students. I got that picture off the web.
I haven't taken any pictures at 5:58 am in my life.
Seminary (according to Wikipedia):
Religious education for youths ages 14-18 that accompanies the student's secular education. In places where there are large concentrations of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) such as Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Utah, instruction is offered on a released time basis during the normal school day in meetinghouses built specifically for seminary programs, adjacent to the public school.
In places like Massachusetts, where there is a much smaller LDS population, we have it before school. That means it's still dark out when we start and, in the winter, it's still dark when we end.
Seminary is also my excuse for neglecting the Blog for 10 days. I'm the teacher.
But I am not alone.
SM teaches with me, and she is hip. She won a demolition derby once. And is a world traveler. And used the phrase "donkey kong" in class today. I like her.
I won't even start talking about how rad the students are. We have 14.
Our first week is over and I just wanted to let you know...
I am re-committed.
Next post coming soon...
Love, C

I'm glad you survived the first week. You are in for a fantastic year!
I had no idea you were teaching! You rock! Is it a calling that you received?
It sure is, Jess. I was hoping I would get called. It's been a blast so far. Every one of the students are so sharp, born leaders and so good. I love them already.
