TWO SERIOUS THINGS

Today we are going to talk about two serious things.

The first one is chili.

I was never serious about chili until my friend Jenny changed my life with this recipe:

HOW THE 70's ARE STILL AFFECTING ME

It's time someone explained.

I am very aware that if someone were to type in the name of this blog, chances are 9 to 1 that there could be a misspelling and the person would end up with a message like this:

Believe me, I have thought of this, and have been racking my brain for another name to name this thing, but either I am not that witty/clever/creative

MY 4:30 AM EXCUSE

Can you tell school has started?
I can.
Because my alarm is set for 4:30 in the morning again.
And I am lovin' it.
No, really.

This is why:

COME WHAT MAY, AND LOVE IT

A wise man once said, "COME WHAT MAY, AND LOVE IT."
Actually it was his mom who said it.
And the wise man was Joseph B. Wirthlin, the grandfather of one of my dear missionary companions (I love you Katie Cannon Miller!) and someone I believe to be an apostle.  (Yes, Mormons believe that there are twelve modern day apostles today, just like in the Bible.  Think that's a little weird?  Maybe I'll talk about it later here.)

OUR LITTLE STRAWBERRY

It's been nine months and four days since Hope got her angel wings.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the first night of her life...

AN APOLOGY

So...I've started a blog.
Or rather--if I were to be honest with myself--I have resurrected a blog that has been dejected and alone...she has MAYBE five friends, and until recently I visited about as often as I floss my teeth, which isn't a lot. (Don't judge me.)
I have also been abusive. I've renamed her three times, posted and erased what I posted, and sometimes have simply left her utterly empty.
I want to say I'm sorry, Blog. And show my changed heart by letting anyone who is interested know she is out there, and encourage you to follow or like or friend or whatever it is that you do on blogs.
I want to dedicate the first part of the blog to our daughter Hope, who lived 37 magnificent days. I'm 'journaling' the time we had with her, including pictures and the few videos we have. Maybe it will be helpful to other mothers who have only had their children with them for a short period of time, or anyone who is going through hard knocks.
Then we will talk about other things. I'm considering even posting parts of a children's book I am now writing (it's a life goal of mine to publish a book, and I don't even care if I'm the only one that buys it).
So...if you like stuff like reading blogs, welcome to my spot.

Love, C
